The Electrocardiography Fundamentals course provides a comprehensive introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the heart. The course covers the normal electrical conduction of the heart and the variations that can occur, as demonstrated by changes in the waveform on a cardiac monitoring device. Students will gain a solid understanding of the heart's structure and function, and how it relates to the electrical signals captured on an EKG. The course is designed for those with little to no prior knowledge of electrocardiography, but who are interested in learning about the basics of this important field. Upon completion of this course, students will have a strong foundation in the fundamental concepts and principles of electrocardiography, and will be well-prepared to pursue further studies in the field.
This laboratory course is designed for students who want to gain hands-on experience with electrocardiography (ECG) and improve their understanding of the electrical activity of the heart. Participants will learn how to perform and interpret ECGs, including the assessment of normal and abnormal patterns. Upon completion of the program, you will be fully prepared to take the NHA certification exam. This exam validates your knowledge and skills, demonstrating your proficiency as an EKG technician.
